After months of hard training my big day in the sun is finally here. Tomorrow, Sunday November 1st I will be running my very first marathon! This event is extra special for me because the run is through my hometown NYC. Here is some information in case you want to come out and cheer for me.

Thanks to my running group and the wonderful coaches at City Coach/Jack Rabbit Sports. And to all of my terrific friends for their boundless support. I’m one lucky gal…
(Update: thanks to everyone who made it out to cheer for me and all who were there in spirit! It was an incredible day.)

My pal artist Arik Moonhawk Roper has his first solo show at Fuse Gallery in NYC from Oct. 24th – Nov 28th. It’s a gorgeous show of surreal, psychedelic visions in delicate watercolor.
From the press release:
Brimming with delicate, surreal imagery, Arik Roper’s The Hidden Dimension examines alternate states of being that exist within and beyond everyday awareness. These realms unfold as everyday consciousness is interrupted through dreams or other capacities. Exploring these transcendent elements, Roper’s paintings and
drawings feature epic landscapes of the mind, natural artifacts from the past and future and other cerebral peculiarities.

My new favorite site is The Museum of British Folklore which has a fascinating collection of “artifacts, ephemera, costumes and images that document not only the history but the living tradition of Britain’s annual and seasonal customs in all their archaic glory”.

Last night I got to check out Dead Moon’s Fred & Tooty at Mercury Lounge in their latest oufit, Pierced Arrows. Sounded just like all Dead Moon tunes I ever loved. NYC’s own Endless Boogie opened the night with some sonic boogie rock. Good times.
Check out my pals Kate Fix and Jason Summers fascinating documentary on Dead Moon called Unknown Passage: The Dead Moon Story.
