Production for the film started in 1968 in Prague’s JirĂ Trnka Studios and the film went on to win the special jury prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1973. Brilliant!

While trying to finish editing my short documentary about guitarist Michael Chapman I’ve gone deep into the English folk revival of the 1960′s. Been reading Dazzling Stranger & Some People Are Crazy, collecting tons of records and digging for archival footage of back in the day. Here’s a beautiful tune sung by Maddy Prior of Steeleye Span with Martin Carthy, Lark in the Morning…
Last night I attended a Stranger then Fiction series screening of the excellent How to Draw a Bunny. My pal John Walter investigates the life and death of pop artist Ray Johnson. The film is a mix of hi 8 video, helicopter shots, interviews with icons from the pop art scene, readings of Ray’s letters by Judith Malina and an original music score by Max Roach.
Director John Walter’s new film Theater of War, about the staging of Bertolt Brecht‘s Mother Courage, opens at Film Forum Dec. 24th, 2008.

Leslie started her first comic series, called simply Leslie, back in high school. It revolved around her wacky adventures with a magical bunny and bird that helped her out in gym class and other misadventures. Read the full article on Etsy’s blog the Storque.
