Wow what a fantastic line up! Mike Fellows aka Mighty Flashlight, Steve Gunn (of GHQ), Psychic Ills and Endless Boogie. Yeah! Good times.
Last night I attended a Stranger then Fiction series screening of the excellent How to Draw a Bunny. My pal John Walter investigates the life and death of pop artist Ray Johnson. The film is a mix of hi 8 video, helicopter shots, interviews with icons from the pop art scene, readings of Ray’s letters by Judith Malina and an original music score by Max Roach.
Director John Walter’s new film Theater of War, about the staging of Bertolt Brecht‘s Mother Courage, opens at Film Forum Dec. 24th, 2008.
Some old friends of mine from Boston have a crazy giant loft space in LIC. Used to be a men’s club in the 30′s and a dance club called Exile in the 80′s. Saturday Nov. 1 they will open the doors to spin hip hop, rock and roll, as well as tons of space / Halloween oriented goodies…
Also Secret Project Robot hosts Brahloween III! The third annual installment of BRAH Records haunted music show – costumes a must! This year with Awesome Color, Oneida, Knyfe Hyts, and spoooooky surpise guest…

The WFMU Record Fair in NYC is this weekend! I got some goodies last night including the live 13th Floor Elevators lp from ’66 and an original German pressing of Gun. Nice. Sister Jen Black and I had a groovy time digging for vinyl treasures…
This Tuesday night October 14th Michael Chapman and Jack Rose will play at the NNCK space in Harlem. After ten years of a myriad of legendary underground musicians passing through its doorway the Hint House will soon be no more, so please join us for this event…
The Chapman/Rose tour marks Michael’s third tour in the US in thirty years! Mark Orleans will join Jack Rose on slide guitar and special guest Bridget St. John will play with Michael Chapman and perform a few of her own songs. Prior to the music will be a screening of short films by Theo Angell, Todd Ledford and selected scenes from my Michael Chapman biopic Sea of Wine. Films start at 9pm, music will follow. Hope to see you then.

I just picked up Fandango at Mercer books a few weeks ago! Nice. You can’t go wrong with just about any ZZ Top lp, but here’s an extra special performance to the music of Fandango by the talented Rafael Sanchez and Jim Fletcher.
